Sales Director – High-Growth Tech ConsultancY
Location: London / Hybrid
Compensation: £100,000–£120,000 base salary, plus performance-related bonus
The mandate
Our client is seeking to appoint a Sales Director into a newly created leadership role at an important point in its growth trajectory.
This appointment has been designed to add greater commercial oversight, operating discipline and leadership leverage across the business. Reporting into the senior leadership team and working closely with a group of Practice Directors, the Sales Director will play a pivotal role in strengthening commercial execution, improving performance visibility and helping the organisation translate strategic ambition into scalable growth.
This is a broad leadership brief, requiring a commercially astute executive with the credibility to operate at senior level and the operational discipline to improve forecasting, pipeline rigour, major deal progression and overall sales effectiveness.
The organisation
Our client is a differentiated consulting and workforce solutions business operating at the intersection of capability building, skills development and strategic delivery support.
Its go-to-market proposition spans three core service lines:
Capability Build
Skills Acceleration
Senior Consulting and Strategic Delivery Solutions
The business is well positioned in a market where clients are increasingly seeking more strategic, future-focused solutions to talent and capability challenges. Its model moves beyond traditional recruitment and beyond standalone training, enabling deeper and more relevant engagement with clients on growth, workforce capability and long-term organisational effectiveness.
A defining feature of the organisation is its commitment to broadening access to opportunity and helping clients build more inclusive, future-ready teams. Diversity is not positioned as an adjunct to the proposition; it is intrinsic to the firm’s identity, operating philosophy and market relevance.
Context for the hire
As the business has scaled, a significant proportion of commercial oversight has remained concentrated at executive level. The creation of this role reflects the need for an experienced commercial leader who can introduce greater structure and consistency across the sales function while supporting the next phase of growth.
The successful candidate will provide a critical bridge between strategic leadership and day-to-day commercial execution. They will be expected to enhance visibility across the numbers, strengthen performance management disciplines, improve CRM and forecasting rigour, and support the conversion of larger, more strategic opportunities.
Key priorities
The Sales Director will be expected to:
drive commercial effectiveness across the sales organisation
improve forecasting accuracy and reporting quality
strengthen pipeline visibility and sales discipline
support the progression and close of strategically important opportunities
partner closely with Practice Directors to improve performance and execution
establish greater accountability, consistency and operating rhythm across the function
contribute meaningfully to the broader growth agenda of the business
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of commercial leadership, analytical rigour and executional strength.
They will have operated in a senior sales or commercial capacity within a consultative, solutions-led environment and will be comfortable managing across multiple stakeholders, service lines and growth priorities. They will be credible in front of senior internal and external audiences and will possess the judgement and presence required to influence outcomes at leadership level.
Relevant sector backgrounds may include:
data and AI-led businesses
technology services
professional services
workforce solutions or hire-train-deploy platforms
The client is open to a range of adjacent backgrounds, provided the individual has experience operating in a commercially sophisticated environment with a broader, multi-layered proposition.
Experience and capabilities
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
senior commercial or sales leadership experience
a track record of driving growth and improving performance
strong forecasting, reporting and pipeline management capability
CRM discipline, ideally including Salesforce
experience supporting larger, more strategic deal cycles
the ability to balance strategic perspective with operational depth
a leadership style that combines credibility, pace and accountability
The opportunity
This is a significant opportunity to join a purpose-led, commercially ambitious business in a role with real influence.
It will suit a leader who is energised by growth, motivated by building greater commercial rigour and attracted to environments where strategic relevance, social value and business performance are closely connected.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape a critical part of the organisation’s evolution and to make a visible contribution to its next chapter of growth.
