Researcher - Quantitative Hedge Funds, HFT


Location: Moorgate, London (Hybrid)
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 base + commission (up to 40%, no threshold)

Overview

This is a high-impact opportunity to join a specialist executive search firm operating at the top end of the technology and quantitative markets.

The business partners with some of the world’s most sophisticated organisations across quantitative hedge funds, high-frequency trading, and VC and PE-backed technology start-ups. You will be working in a market defined by high-calibre talent, complex hiring needs, and significant deal values.

The Role

You will focus on identifying, engaging, and placing elite-level talent across engineering, quantitative research, and data science into leading global organisations.

This is a candidate-led role with access to well-established client relationships, meaning there is minimal requirement for cold business development. The emphasis is on quality, credibility, and delivering at a high level.

You will:

  • Work closely with high-growth technology firms and leading quantitative investment businesses

  • Engage and place top-tier talent from world-class academic and professional backgrounds

  • Operate in a high-value market with average fees often exceeding $100,000

  • Build long-term relationships with both candidates and clients in niche, specialist markets

  • Develop expertise across quantitative research, trading, and advanced technology hiring

What They Are Looking For

This role suits someone who is driven, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in a high-performance but low-ego environment.

You will likely have:

  • 6+ months experience in recruitment, ideally within technology or finance

  • A research-led and detail-oriented approach

  • Strong communication skills and credibility with senior candidates

  • A proactive and self-motivated mindset

  • Interest in technology, quantitative finance, or trading markets
